Jamel Thomas is a rising alternative hip hop artist from Toronto, Canada. After releasing his first LP “One On The House” in February 2018, Jamel was able to break onto the university and college radio scene, getting play on over 100 campus stations. In February 2019, Jamel released his first music video "It Starts At Home" which was picked up and premiered on the TV series "Jammerzine's The Week In #Indie". Since September, Jamel has been releasing a new song every month leading up to the new album "Two On The House." The first song off this project, "Double Time" was released September 6th and premiered on CHUO 89.1 in Ottawa on "The Majic Hour". His latest song "Want You Bad" was released December 4th & was premiered on the popular publication: Hip Hop Since 1987. The song has also been featured several other blogs such as: The Rap Fest & Elevator Mag & Hip Hop Canada - the last of which added the song to their “Canadian Fresh” playlist on Spotify. All of this, along with 14 live performances in 2019, has garnered the Toronto rapper/singer a growing following on Spotify as the songs are starting to do heavy numbers. There is a captivating, high-energy element to Jamel’s music featuring an alternative hip hop sound distinct from anything else that’s out. Jamel describes himself as "Kendrick Lamar meets Drake meets The Weeknd," but strives for originality in every song, infusing elements of R&B and Pop into the mix.
