A LONG POST!!
Next "Nailing the Small Role" workshop, happening on ZOOM...Sunday August 10th!
After taking a medical hiatus, (which was incredibly tedious, but with a great outcome!!!)….I’m finally back in the saddle! 🤣🥰
Very grateful, & very excited to teach again!
(Why Zoom? I like to alternate between studio & Zoom…but I honestly find Zoom workshops extremely helpful to actors.
Why? Most auditions now, as you know!... are Self-tapes or Zoom sessions with the Casting Director. The Zoom frame teaches you a lot about using that set-up/range of movement in frame for your self-tapes, and for your Zoom CALLBACKS.
It also lets me see what kind of tech set-up actors have at home, and suggest any changes they might need.)
This is a 2-part workshop…main session with entire class, then a private session with me. Actors will be assigned 2 scenes…the first for the group part of the workshop, then a scene to prep for the private session with me. We look at different genres…everything from medical/legal procedurals, Hallmark movies, etc…everything that’s shooting in Canada.
Every actor works on a different scene.
I keep this workshop class size SMALL…to insure that every actor gets a lot of individual time.
So...here's the "official flyer!"
IT’S TIME TO INVEST IN YOU!
Next “Nailing the Small Role” workshop date: SUNDAY AUGUST 10th on Zoom!
On-camera acting classes…GREAT! On-camera scene study & audition classes…GREAT! You get to work on large, “meaty” scenes—characters that have a full emotional arc.
BUT....How do you handle an audition for a SMALLER ROLE?
The roles that don’t have an “emotional journey?” The “functional” roles like: “The ER Doctor.” “The Kindly Nurse.” “The Neighbour Who Saw the Victim.” “The Cheery Caterer.” This is why I designed the: “NAILING THE SMALL ROLE” WORKSHOP
A 2-PART ZOOM workshop devoted to solving the problems of auditioning for smaller roles, concentrating on the SELF TAPE/ZOOM audition! Many actors find auditioning for smaller roles an immense challenge at the best of times. NOW we also have the demands of the SELF-TAPE/ZOOM audition. But booking these smaller roles can lead to a terrific on-camera career!
This workshop is designed to demystify the small role audition. The workshop will explore: How the casting process works/industry stats and info. How to avoid the biggest traps actors fall into with these types of roles.
How to use the camera frame/self-tape to maximum advantage. The keys to building your confidence in the Self-Tape/Zoom room.
WORKSHOP DETAILS:
PART ONE: SUNDAY AUGUST 10: 10:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. (Group workshop on ZOOM.)
PART TWO: A private tutorial/coaching with Lynne. (You will be assigned a scene in advance, then work it in a session with Lynne at a mutually convenient time.)
COST: $150.00 + HST. Maximum 8 actors. Every actor works on a different scene…that way we can look at different types of genre & characters.
