Hypothyroidism or perimenopause?

Menopause is not a disease but diseases like hypothyroidism (underperforming thyroid) need to be ruled out since symptoms may be similar.

June is Thyroid Awareness Month in Canada

Symptoms that are common during the menopause transition

✅ fatigue,
✅ feeling cold and hot
✅ dry and itchy skin
✅ hair loss

can also bother you if you have a thyroid disorder.

Not sure how your thyroid is performing?

Ask your doctor for a blood test (at least annually) to rule out
thyroid disease.

Many women reach perimenopause and feel their life has changed overnight.

Most people know about hot flashes being part of the transition but fatigue, sleep problems, vaginal dryness and low libido, brain fog, decreased motivation at home and work, weight gain, mood swings, anxiety, worry, anger, irritability, and feeling isolated affect many women and most don’t know about it.

The silence, secrecy, and shame surrounding menopause leave women unprepared for what is going on physically, mentally, and emotionally in midlife.

It doesn’t have to be that way. Let’s talk about menopause so you can get educated and equipped to live a vibrant and productive life, and feel your best during the menopause transition.
