I’m Ayesha Adhami-Magueta, Purposeful Communication Coach and Founder/Principal at Intentionally Design Your Life in Toronto, Canada. ity and Inclusion) initiatives. It all started in Grade 5, when my elementary school in Calgary presented me with a “Good Citizenship” award. Even at that tender age, I saw myself as equal to my peers – defying gender, race and religion – and a force for collaboration, connection and community. This unshakable faith in my purpose has guided my life's journey and work since then. As a first-year student at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, I worked with the Halifax Regional Police as a student community liaison and a year later, became the editor of our student newspaper The Journal, which gained popularity and support with students, student government and University officials during my tenure. Through my 25+ years of working life – in for-profit and non-profit organizations, and as an entrepreneur – I've dealt with professional setbacks from gender and racial inequity. In/with value-aligned organizations, I’ve led teams to succeed and surpass target goals. I've created innovative strategies to produce culture shifts and build everyday inclusivity and accountability. I've learned and shared how to authentically build bridges and foster trust and cooperation in teams. I've cultivated and modeled safe spaces for discussion, where people can be seen, heard, and even find common ground beyond their differences. For my people work, I’m all about empowering women to get rooted in their whole selves through radical self-love, acceptance and self-actualization. From there, I support them to RISE and lead fiercely, realigning their whole selves, their loves, lives, businesses, communities and political enterprises with what matters most to them. For my org work, I collaborate with leadership, management and teams to help them create, shift, rejig and maintain standards of operations and workplace culture that are truly inclusive, equitable and designed to bring out the best in and for people, and for the good of the company.
