Toronto Prayer Breakfast

This past week, several synagogues in the Greater Toronto Area were struck by gunfire.

These acts of antisemitic violence are deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable. As Mayor Olivia Chow has said, “Toronto’s Jewish community has the right to practice their faith without fear, intimidation or violence.”

At The 2026 Toronto Prayer Breakfast, held on the same day as Purim, Aden Friedman, a Jewish follower of Jesus, read from the Book of Esther and led a prayer for our city.

In that prayer he named antisemitism clearly and rejected hatred and prejudice in all its forms. He asked God for protection for the vulnerable, wisdom for leaders, and peace among peoples and nations.

“For such a time as this.” – Esther 4:14

We invite you to join us in praying for the Jewish community in our city, for the safety of all places of worship, and for the peace and welfare of Toronto.

We're grateful for our Prayer Coordinator, Rev. Donnie Persaud, who has helped shape and steward the prayer movement behind this gathering for the past seven years.

One of our Gold Sponsors, Crossroads Media, recently featured Empowered Life Church in a story connected to Anyone Pray.

It’s a reminder that when a local church says yes to prayer, the impact can extend far beyond its walls.
