Through stories, families gain familiarity with Jewish holidays, customs, and life cycle events and discover how other Jews have lived around the world, in both the past and present. Throughout the last decade, local PJ Library communities have been encouraged to expand beyond monthly book delivery to develop meaningful and impactful ways to engage families in Jewish life. Vibrant family engagement communities have been created through building relationships with families, designing opportunities for families to develop relationships with each other, offering high-quality Jewish experiences that respond to the needs and interests of families, connecting families with local Jewish organizations, and empowering parents to take the lead in their family’s Jewish life – both at home and in their communities. A program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is made possible through partnerships with philanthropists and local Jewish organizations. Families with kids ages 6 months through 8 years old with Judaism as part of their lives, are welcome to sign up, regardless of their Jewish background, knowledge, or observance.
