As a community driven, youth focused organization, our mission is to support collective and community members to develop their creative and artistic practices through: Providing a platform to showcase their art, creating independent music videos, producing and recording albums, providing funding and sponsorships for events and projects, booking tours, creating merchandise, and curating a space to
network with other like minded artists. Our goal is to challenge the stereotypes that surround urban arts/music culture, and to promote underground art culture in the city of Toronto and beyond. Our accomplishments over the past 6 years include:
Organizing, hosting and sustaining an artistically diverse Bimonthly showcase of local and international talent
Receiving the Toronto Arts Council’s ‘Music Projects Program’ grant (2011)
Winning $5000 with ArtReach Toronto’s ‘Youth Arts Pitch Contest’ (2012)
Partnering with major organizations like, NXNE, AGO, ArtScape Gibaltar Point, CUE, SKETCH, Buddies in Bad Times, Wavelength, Arboretum Festival, Manifesto, MOCADA, Bklyn Boihood, Black Weirdo, Riot Grrrrl Berlin and Toronto PRIDE
Curating two independent European tours with shows in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris + London (2012 + 2013)
Releasing five 88 Days Of Fortune mix tapes
Members have also had the opportunity perform at national and international music and film festivals and the chance to open for such acts like; Shabazz Palaces, Bilal, Erykah Badu, Diana King, Saul Williams, Phonte, CampLo, Shad, LAL, Big Sean, Rae Spoon, Climbing PoeTree, Big Freeda, The Internet, SZA, Njena Reddd Fo### and Zaki Ibrahim. Everything we have ever done has been DIY. We are proud to be Indie.
