Pusha has been my nickname since childhood (it comes from the word ‘papusa’ which in Romanian means ‘doll’) and since I have such fond memories of it we decided to use it as our name. Knitting is a passion which started early in my life and it was inspired by my grandmother. She used to say that knitting is for mothers or grandmothers but that did not stop me from steeling her needles and yarns while trying to make simple scarves. They were just samples and I could never finish them. But from her I learned how to hold the needles and how to play with the yarn. From then on it was all up to the imagination. I hope my grandmother is proud of the items I am making now. I do not use a pattern and most of the time I start without a specific design. I let inspiration drive me and I integrate the item as my hands are working away. I end up surprising myself by the final results. I have been lucky to make clothes and accessories for myself, my dear family and friends and new clients. The feedback has been so welcoming and positive that I decided to use Etsy as a venue to share my knitting and tailoring work. This is a life long passion, more than 30 years. It is pure joy for me to see the pride in the people wearing my items. It brings a level of uniqueness to their wardrobe and they can feel rewarded for having a more active role in the pieces they wear. Anca’s Bio
