Open That Bottle Night is coming up this weekend – and consider this your friendly nudge.

Started in 1999 by wine writers Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher, it’s an informal tradition celebrated on the last Saturday in February: open the bottle you’ve been saving for “the right moment.”

OTBN has one job: turn “someday” into tonight.

So reach into your cellar, pull that special bottle, and make a Dobbin-like toast: “To the story in the bottle – and the story at this table.”
