Epiphany Recovery

One of the more painful parts of recovery, that people don’t talk about enough, is how much it can change relationships.
A lot of people realize certain friendships were built around drinking, using, avoiding emotions or escaping life together. And when someone starts changing, getting sober or becoming more honest about what they need, those relationships can start feeling unfamiliar or unsafe very quickly.
That doesn’t mean the connection wasn't real. Sometimes it means the relationship could only survive within a certain version of life.
And grieving that can feel incredibly lonely.
Especially in the beginning, when sobriety already feels isolating enough on its own.
But over time, many people begin finding friendships where they no longer feel pressure to numb themselves, perform, or abandon parts of who they are just to belong.
And those relationships tend to feel a lot more genuine, safe and sustainable.
If this resonates with you, support, coaching, and companionship are available through Epiphany Recovery.💛
