ACE Program Employment Supports

The ACE Program will be CLOSED tomorrow for Good Friday, as well as Monday.

Completing a 2 day FedCap orientation Course to serve our clients better is always a great thing. Call our office at 519-426-4590 for any employment assistance you may need.

Volunteering is a great way to build work skills and add to your resume!

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!

We have alot of gaps in our fair week schedule and we need your help to fill them!

We will be running our Splatter Room at the Norfolk County Fair and Horse Show, which is an inflatable booth where participants of all ages go in, armed with 100% washable non toxic party paint to either create a masterpiece or a mess... or both!

Positions:

CASHIER/FORMS: accept payment via cash or square and have participants sign a form.

GEAR TABLE: assist participants with clothing coverage options.

SUPPLIES TABLE: fill paint cups, blasters, canvasses, etc.

BOOTH ATTENDANT: move easels as needed, spread out any puddles with the squeegee, keep an eye on the action in the booth.

CLEAN UP TABLE: assist participants at the clean up table, put masterpieces on drying rack.

We CAN sign off on student hours! It is important however for the students to be aware that we will be relying on them to show up/not cancel last minute. We get that life is young and fun, but we also need to be able to run our FUNdraising activity effectively!

Finding a job can be a challenge, but you don't have to face it alone. Your desire to work, with support from the ACE Program staff and an Employment Action Plan, can make this process manageable. Our knowledgeable employment counsellors work with you to overcome barriers to sustainable employment.

How we can help:

Returning to the workforce is intimidating at first, but it becomes quite a bit more manageable once you’ve had a chance to break it down and prepare for it one piece at a time.

The ACE program offers one-on-one employment counselling for people who are living with a disability, mental health or addictions barriers. With that said... our services are open to EVERYONE who qualifies!

The program is client-focused; our goal is not just finding clients a job, but finding suitable, sustained employment based on client needs.

We offer a variety of different supports including financial job seeker support for those who qualify, and continue to provide support throughout a retention phase to ensure clients get the support they need even after an employment offer comes in.

Our employment counsellors assist clients in a number of ways, including:

One to one barrier assessment and employment counselling, leading to an Employment Action Plan

Cover letter / resume writing workshops

Interview practice and preparation techniques

Job search strategies

Internet job searches

​As well as additional services:

Job maintenance

Access to non-profit resources & publicly funded programs

Cash register training

Power of Possible workshop series

Online, individualized Client Portal

The ACE Program is designed to help individuals living with a mental illness or addiction overcome obstacles that might prevent them from achieving competitive, sustainable employment.
