Lucy graduated to ‘Big Sis’ and she’s thriving. ✨
Her mom had some initial concerns about unpredictable, pushy, or jealous behaviour. So we focused on building clear structure and simple boundaries (like not barging through doorways), along with a solid set of other impulse control skills.
We also helped the family learn to read Lucy’s body language and advocate for her needs… skills and knowledge they’ll be able to pass on to their child as she grows.
To prepare Lucy, we introduced controlled exposure to baby sounds and items, making sure nothing felt overwhelming or unfamiliar.
So, how’s it going? Well, Lucy might just be the best big sister ever. She likes to hang close to her Mom and little sis and quietly observe them and her surroundings. When Moms attention is on little sis, Lucy stays calm often relaxing nearby or snoozing right through it. No pushiness, no jealousy—just a clear understanding of expectations.

Quick Tip Tuesday - Holiday Edition 🐾🎄— New Year’s Eve Safety 🎆
Fireworks + parties can be scary for our dogs.
Here are a few simple ways to help them feel safe:
✔️ Walk early (before the noise starts)
✔️ Keep flight risk dogs indoors + on leash for potty breaks
✔️ Update ID tags & microchip info
✔️ Create a cozy “safe space” (crate, place)
✔️ Use white noise, music, or TV
✔️ Skip the table scraps — and offer something better. Try a snuffle mat with single ingredient treats, a stuffed Kong with plain pumpkin, a lick mat with plain Greek yogurt… or small amounts of foods naturally rich in tryptophan (like turkey or egg)
✔️ Hydration + potty breaks - Stress can make dogs pant so be sure to keep fresh water available and offer predictable potty breaks
✔️ Dog safe natural calming sprays - These are designed to help create a soothing environment
