The look and design of the Foundry Sunshine Coast space is taking shape!

Earlier this month we held 2 design engagement sessions led by Foundry’s architect and design team.

These ongoing design sessions are meant to engage our youth and caregiver advisors, as well as partner organizations, in shaping the physical space of Foundry Sunshine Coast.

We are using feedback from youth and caregivers as the jumping point for these sessions, ensuring the space reflects program needs, service delivery realities, and the shared vision informed by youth and caregiver engagement to date.

Thank you to everyone who participated!

What an amazing team!

We are so grateful for the guidance and support of our youth and caregiver advisors at Foundry Sunshine Coast, along with our engagement facilitators.

This photo was taken out front of the future Foundry Sunshine Coast location in Sechelt…and after an amazing Foundry community integration workshop, these folks are still smiling, ready for more milestones on the road ahead 😊

What an amazing workshop!

Thank you to the Foundry Central Office team for facilitating, and to all the participants who showed up to the Service Integration Dialogue Workshop for Foundry Sunshine Coast.

On January 20th, we brought together decision-makers and managers of participating organizations and programs, along with youth and caregiver advisory members, to begin defining what meaningful integration will look like for Foundry on the Sunshine Coast.

It was inspiring to have so many dedicated representatives in the same room, sharing ideas and resources, and relating potential challenges and opportunities as we work toward a 2027 opening.

This marks an important milestone for Foundry Sunshine Coast! Stay tuned for more!

Thank you to UBC Professor and Foundry Head Scientist Dr. Skye Barbic and her team!

On the evening of Friday, January 16th, 2026, the UBC team met with Foundry Sunshine Coast's youth advisory to help interpret the findings and to develop further questions for our Coastal Voices Survey.

The Coastal Voices Survey was created by Foundry Sunshine Coast's Youth and Caregiver Engagement Facilitator, Lisa Weitendorf, and Youth Advisor, Izabelle Stevens, to learn what our community would like to see at our local Foundry centre and over 850 people have filled it out!

UBC Neuroscience student, Aishwariya Sharma, is analyzing the data for her 4th year capstone project.

Thank you to everyone who participated!

🎨 Will you help us create this mural? 🎨

We are so grateful to for bringing this design to life; a design that welcomes the creativity of youth, and places youth and their care at the centre of everything we do.

In a race against the rain Manuela worked to get this design layed out last weekend. This Friday we are inviting the community to help us put the vibrant finishing touches on this piece. Will you be there to help us?

🖤 Raven Hugs Human Being 🖤

“The Raven you see here is using its power to surround the human being with a safe and warm embrace. Ravens are a symbol of transformation, creativity and magic. Ravens are knowledgeable, keen and resourceful. Ravens offer wisdom and guidance to the next generation to help them find their way in this complex world. This Raven is a guiding spirit.”

Our future Foundry centre will support youth 12-24 and their caregivers on shíshálh & Skwxwu7mesh Uxwumixw Nation land.

We have a spot!

Exciting news! Foundry Sunshine Coast has a home! We’re thrilled to share that Foundry Sunshine Coast has officially found its location. Our new centre will be right in the heart of downtown Sechelt, in the former Bank of Montreal building at the corner of Wharf Avenue and Cowrie Street.

Foundry is a safe, youth-friendly space where young people ages 12–24 can access mental health care, physical health care, peer support, and work and education support – all under one roof. While our physical doors aren’t open yet, youth and families can already connect with Foundry BC’s virtual services through the Foundry BC app, available now on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Pictured here are Foundry Manager Myriam Juda and Nievelina Carmona, Indigenous Youth and Caregiver Engagement Facilitator (along with SCCSS unofficial mascot Ruby), outside the new location.

To celebrate this milestone, we’ll be hosting a “We’ve got a spot” site celebration in September – stay tuned for all the details!
