WOW The hrrr 12z is looking good, just after looking at the NAM Nest which shows rain early this afternoon and no heavy storms for Regina. Of course the hrrr is going to be more extreme however the rain placement is completely different. 2.52 inches of rain is a hell of a lot more and it starts with a trace at 3pm, ramping up to 5pm with the first inch of rain. Strong storms with large hail can be expected IF this model verifies. BOTH models suggest a low end tornado risk around Regina. Chasers in Manitoba could see a major bust if all the rain is shifting further west. They will still see a strong storm front but no tornadoes except possibly in the Carlyle to Brandon region later in the evening. Note: The official EC forecast continues to show heavy storms from 4pm to 8pm in Regina.

The sky is activating this morning, extreme risk again today between Regina and Winnipeg. Weird day to find a white rabbit. Maybe a sign of major hail later today about 5pm storms, heavy storms.
06/08/2026
The GFS is suggesting tomorrow will be another Extreme Risk and there is absolutely nothing after that for the rest of June!

Tuesday evening about 10pm Manitoba time, Brandon is in line with severe wind gusts according to the hrrr. Of course the NAM Nest is much lower as a comparison so expect something in between. Top wind in the model is 77 knots 142 km/hr 88 mph.
Note: This gust front is on both models, one much higher than the other. Hitting Regina at 5pm and all the way to Brandon in only 4 hours! Tuesday storms are gonna be cookin with bacon.
Darkening skies to the southeast at Wascana Lake 5:26pm
