Prairie Soap Shack

Something I never thought I’d be saying is that there are more than 40,000 new faces around here since I last posted any type of introduction! That number still blows my mind if I’m being honest.

So hi, I’m Jess 👋🏼Mom, wife, retired nurse, nature lover, and owner of Prairie Soap Shack here in central Alberta. I started my business in 2019 when I was on mat leave and making soap in my kitchen after my family went to bed.

My nursing career and work in wound care served as the foundation for my interest in skin care, and once my love of nature and wild plants joined the party, there was no stopping.

When I’m not working, I’m often helping on the family farm, hanging out with my family and dog Ginny, taking my kids to hockey and other activities, or losing myself in a really good book. I spend time outside in all seasons, whether it’s hiking, canoeing, skiing, or foraging for the wild plants I use both in my business and my home!
