Before any solution, a BA must define:
What is happening?
Why is it happening?
Who is impacted?
What is the business impact?

Use the 5 Whys technique:

Example:
System delays
→ Why? Server overload
→ Why? Poor capacity planning
→ Why? No forecasting …

Root cause ≠ symptoms.

Insight:
If you solve the wrong problem perfectly…

Stop Acting Like a Note-Taker, Start Acting Like a Business Analyst

Most Business Analysts are not actually analyzing anything
They’re just documenting.

If your role is only to:
· Take notes in meetings
· Write what stakeholders say
· Pass information to developers
Then you are NOT doing Business Analysis.

A real BA:
✔ Challenges assumptions
✔ Asks “WHY” repeatedly
✔ Connects problems to business value
✔ Identifies gaps others don’t see

Example:
Stakeholder: “We need a new system.”
Average BA: Writes it down
Great BA: Ask
👉 “What problem are we trying to solve?”
👉 “What happens if we don’t solve it?”

Ø To → Problem Solver
