January's pincushion project reaffirmed that creativity has sustained me through all the joys and sorrows that life brings my way. January flew by! Doing one stitch after another gave me time for contemplation and listening while also making something beautiful and practical with my hands. I enjoyed not needing a special space for this project and being able to work in my easy chair in the living room next to a warm fire. Thank you for the encouragement along the way. ❤️

As I face the post holidays where the glitter of Christmas has dimmed and the days, despite growing longer, can feel dreary, my wish is that these modest, daily undertakings will inspire you to explore your creative processes to overcome January's challenges. Each pin cushion features decorative hand stitching on my hand block-printed fabrics and is filled with ground walnut shells to keep pins and needles sharp. Functional items can be beautiful!
