Tis the season everybody! This Christmas, in the spirit of the holidays I'll be working to help raise money for Miklat Recovery Society .

I'll be cooking a Christmas feast for the ages on Saturday, December 17th at Evangel Pentocostal Church

100% off the proceeds are to be donated to Miklat, to help them give the best primary care possible to those trying to beat the demon of alcohol and drug addiction. Miklat is a Non-profit, locally based, 10 bed treatment facility located here in the Qathet region. They have many options available to those facing the financial challenges that sometimes serve as an impossible barrier to getting help and finding a path to happyness in sobriety.

Tickets are cheap, and the meal is going to be excellent, Sysco Canada has donated close to 40kg of turkey for the event and I'll be up front carving prime ribs compliments of our friend at Save on Foods All the other fixings like stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted veg, and apple pie will be on the buffet. The plan is to fill some bellies and have some fun while raising money for Miklat.

December 17th’s menu is going to be amazing!

I’ve decided to follow a suggestion and bring Falafel and Donairs* to your table! This is something I’m personally excited about because I love eating them and there really is no good place to get either of these in Powell River. I can’t wait to knock these two favourites out of the park for you guys!

SIMPLECHEF DONAIR - $20 – A warm pita stuffed with shaved bbq’d lamb or chicken basted in lemon rosemary and garlic, slivered red onion, marinated vine ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce, mozza cheese and your choice of house-made Halifax style sweet sauce or tzatziki.



SIMPLECHEF FALAFEL - $20 – Warm Pita stuffed with house-made Falafel balls, grilled zuchinni and lentil baba-ghanoush, oregano and lemon crema, fresh spinach and mozza cheese.



As always, to make sure everybody gets their vitiamins– both meals come with a side of vegetables and to keep things Mediterranean, Ill whip up a batch of tabbouleh to go with it.
