Could an assessment Help?
Sometimes questions about learning, attention, or emotions can feel confusing for both individuals and families.
A psychological or psychoeducational assessment can provide valuable insights into cognitive, academic, and emotional functioning. These insights help guide therapy, school support, and personalized strategies.
At Albus Minds, we believe that understanding is the first step toward the right support.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is often diagnosed in childhood, but some adults may only seek evaluation later in life. An adult ASD assessment helps identify strengths, challenges, and patterns of thinking and behavior that may have gone unrecognized.
The assessment typically includes:
* A detailed developmental and medical history
* Behavioral and cognitive evaluations*
* Self-report questionnaires and structured interviews
* Observation of social communication and flexibility
Receiving an assessment can provide clarity, validate experiences, and guide strategies for work, relationships, and daily life. It can also connect adults with appropriate support, therapy, and community resources.

Understanding PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
PTSD can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. While many people experience stress after trauma, PTSD occurs when symptoms persist and begin to interfere with daily functioning.
Common symptoms may include:
* Re-experiencing the event through intrusive memories, nightmares, or flashbacks
* Avoiding reminders of the trauma
* Increased anxiety, hypervigilance, or difficulty feeling safe
* Changes in mood, such as feelings of fear, guilt, or detachment from others
A PTSD diagnosis is made through a comprehensive clinical evaluation conducted by a qualified mental health professional. This evaluation considers the individual’s symptoms, their duration, and how they impact daily life.
With the right support, therapy can help individuals process traumatic experiences, develop coping strategies, and regain a sense of safety and stability. Healing is possible.

Screening tests are designed to identify possible areas of concern and determine whether further evaluation may be helpful. They are usually brief and used as a first step to flag potential learning, behavioral, or emotional difficulties.
However, screening tools do not provide a diagnosis. A diagnosis requires a comprehensive assessment, which may include standardized testing, clinical interviews, behavioral observations, and a review of developmental and educational history.
