2021 has been quite the year for everyone and I decided I wanted to get to my New Years resolution early! This past year I’ve taken a chance to connect back with my music which has been an incredible experience, but the most important journey I’ve taken has been connecting and reconnecting with myself. December 9th marked 1 year and 3 months since my last sip of alcohol and it’s been an incredibly liberating experience, although it came with its own set of challenges (which I believe now are opportunities for personal growth). I definitely can’t say that I did it alone, my support system has been incredible and 2 months in a rehab facility were integral; so I have so many people to thank for their Love. By taking this step in my self-discovery, I’ve been able to sit with a lot of the emotions that I had been suppressing, and through quiet contemplation and a clear mind, I’ve been able to untangle them to understand how I’ve been operating and how I’d like to operate going forward. Through the self-healing process, my reconnection with music has allowed me to express those emotions to myself and has helped me through these times and so - my New Years resolution is to create a musical experience with the backdrop of addictions and mental health that I can share with friends, family and anyone who wants to hear. The goal is to hopefully educate a little on the subject matter and to connect with those who might be struggling by themselves so that they don’t have to feel as alone as I did at times. My goal is to have this completed by the end 2022! This post is to let you know but also to hold myself accountable to it! If you see me out and about please feel free to ask me about it and hold me accountable too! Thank you to all the friends and family who have supported me, I Love you and I’m so grateful and thankful to have every single person in my life that I do. I’ve given the show a name, and that name is “Phoenix”.
