Post-competition recovery is essential for equestrian athletes to ensure that both you and your horse are physically and mentally prepared for the next event or training session. After riding, it's important to eat something that replenishes lost nutrients and promotes muscle recovery.

It is important to ensure you complete a proper cool down for you muscles to prevent stiffness and aid in recovery. Focus on stretching your legs, back and hips, as these areas are heavily engages while riding.

Ensure you drink water or an electrolyte drink right after your competition to restore hydration levels. Eating a balanced post-competition meal with protein (for muscle recovery), carbs (for energy replenishment), and healthy fats is key. For example, a steak with potatoes and a fresh salad with avocado can be a great option.
