The Alien World of Bookers Lagoon
This was by far one of the most surreal dives I’ve been on. Up north Vancouver Island the diving is some of the best cold water diving in the world and Bookers Lagoon was no exception. Ripping currents blast through this small v-shaped channel, nutrient rich waters feeding all sorts of life and in this instance, thousands of Giant Feather Duster Tube Worms.
These tube worms can grow to over 6ft in length with their plumage the size of a pompom.
We descended into the dark and murky was and were immediately shot down through the channel. Thousands of tube worms rippling in the current. Submerging in the dark black green water surrounded by thousands of these tube worms, it was like exploring an alien planet.
