CFE is Certificate Exam in the field of Quantitative Finance. The Exam is delivered by CFE School, Risk Latte Company, in six global locations (Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, London, New York and Mumbai). There are two levels of the Exam: Level 1 and Level 2. CFE Level 1
CFE Level 1 tests a candidate’s intermediate to advanced level knowledge and thinking and application skills in the areas of quantitative finance and risk management. The Exam has the format of multiple choice questions (MCQ). CFE Level 2
CFE Level 2 tests both advanced level knowledge and quantitative modeling and problem solving skills using Excel™/VBA. The focus of CFE Level 2 is implementation of advanced level quantitative and mathematical models used in Finance using Excel™/VBA. In the Level 2 Exam, candidates work on laptop computers and use Microsoft Excel™ to solve problems. A few questions are also in the form of short answers and there may be one essay type question (which can be written using a Word document). CFE Course
CFE Course is delivered for FREE online (via internet) to all those who enroll for the CFE Program (CFE Exam). For a select few, corporate sponsored, candidates from tier global banks and financial institutions, CFE School offers classroom based program where the CFE curriculum is taught by instructors. These classes are held in six global locations, New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Mumbai. The CFE course is designed for those who want to better prepare for the CFE Exam. In the Online CFE Course a student accesses and downloads course materials (Excel™/VBA tutorials, quantitative models of valuation and risk analysis in Excel™/VBA, Excel™ tutorials, Lecture notes, short notes, etc.) and does self-study to prepare for the CFE Exam. In the Classroom CFE Course students, besides doing self-study based on the course materials delivered online, also attend classes and onsite sessions and tutorials in six global locations where instructors from CFE School work with students to work on problems, key topics in CFE syllabus. These classes and onsite sessions are primarily designed to help students with their preparation for CFE Level 2 and they are delivered in Excel/VBA rapid application development environment to facilitate the quantitative modeling skills development, which is tested in Level 2 Exam.
