" Suprise " - Graphite and Ink on paper, 2021.
I'm currently working on a lot of things at the same time since 2 weeks and some results are slowly coming out.
This sketch is made for a skateboard design that'll be doing alongside and
The general idea we first had was to create a skeleton torso, coming out of somewhere and either grabbing a bird or eating it by suprise. While sketching, I felt like the concept isn't bad, but it might not the best for what we want to do and the format we have. I then tried to keep the same feeling of surprise and kept only the head as the main focus for my part. The sides are pattern/texture studies that might come in handy soon. Also, the next idea for the 2nd design's also present as the snake holding ans crushing his prey.
It's been a while since the last time I've posted something but worry none, there's a few new things on the way for the month of March ☠

Back when I was about 7 years old or so, I started listening to the radio and that was the first time I've been introduced to music. I didn't knew much at the time, I listened a lot of classical music first, and then I slowly started listening to music from here, Quebec. The lyrics were simple and understandable enough for me back then. I remember the day I first heard "Desgénérations" by Mes Aieux on the radio. I liked the song so much I told my mother that night what I wanted for next Christmas : the album "En famille" by the same group where the same song was featured. Then one Christmas morning, I received the album I wished for, my very first musical album. It's a simple memory, but to me, it's a precious memory. Funny enough, the album's title is still quite ironic knowing the circumstances, we never listened to it in family.
So far the drawing's done and I've added a layer of glazes to settle the colors already so I can get a glimpse of what's it's gonna look like. I think I'll be able to finish it in about 3 to 4 day's of work, more or less.

"Lost Memories" and "Happy Birthday Frederick" for "Memories from a past not yours".
Two artworks are available and completed for the series I'm currently working on. I wanted to see what the two of them look like when put together and I'm not that disappointed, that's good! I like the use of similar colors and fire in both paintings, althought they're still different from one another. There's a sense of continuity present, and this is something I ought to preserve for the rest of the artworks. They have to fit with one another, like different pieces of a puzzle telling a story made up of a bunch of smaller stories. It might be harder than it sounds but I gotta keep this focus in mind for all other projects related to this initiative.
I also included the 3rd soon-to-be artwork of the series, still untitled but ready to start already! ☠

Did this study yesterday night 🌙
I expected to do a least 3 to 4 models but the moment I started the 2nd pose, I knew it would take me a little while but it was worth the trouble. The colors look pretty good, the mix between the sublte touches of red and cyan with the dark burnt umber makes the character more contrasted and richer in tones than the previous studies. I might keep a similar palette for the next watercolor but I still want to test what a warmer palette can give. Also, there's another kind of element I need to try to implement and see how the interaction goes with the models.
More watercolor studies coming right up tomorrow once again ☠

The book's pretty well established already, next thing to work : the flames!
I tried adding a few touch of red and blue on some pages to get it a bit more colorful with the brownish palette I'm using. I like it althought it's pretty subtle, I hope the flames and more details will make it stand out more, or at least, to give the overall composition more nuances within the palette.
While painting and thinking about this project's concept, I remembered my grandfather who has Alzeihmer. It's a terrible fate not to be able to remember anything as you once did but it hurts even more when it is someone you know and you care for.
He might not remember me anymore, it's been so many years since the last time I saw him. I hope he's doing fine.
