Author Indi Raine
Looking for a last minute Christmas present? Consider buying a book by a local author! For some of you, that might be me. ππ If you are located in the Moncton area (or planning a visit near the holidays), come pick up a signed copy of "A Family History of Ivy May".
It has been so fun to hear from the many friends and family who have now read or are reading my book! It really is special to share an artistic form of love with those who filled you with love in the first place.
It was an especially meaningful Thanksgiving. I was able to give my granny and great grandmother their copies. I was able to sign an aunt's copy. And one of my sisters sent me a text this morning telling me about how much she had enjoyed it, with a question about the ending. π©΅ππI am so grateful to have such supportive family members.
If you have read the book and want to share your thoughts, please reach out! I'd love to hear what you think. It is also helpful to have reviews on websites like Amazon and Goodreads, if you have time to share your thoughts with the rest of the world! π₯°

Four More Days Until Book Release! We can't wait until Saturday!!!!
09/16/2025
Let's keep building the excitement for the release day for "A Family History of Ivy May"! What's most needed? To spread the word! π€
π¬π£
Please share this page with your reader friends who might enjoy "A Family History of Ivy May". That includes ...
*π The friend who has kids who read constantly and who would love for a book to take more than half an hour to consume (I went through my books like candy as a kid - Ivy's story is over 300 pages, so it gives parents a tiny bit of breathing room before the next library visit ... if their kids blink a couple times)
* π³The friend who loves genealogy and who lights up while talking about heritage and family trees (maybe they already have a notebook like Ivy's!βοΈ)
* ππThe friend who could see themself as a historical reenactor at a little historical village (they'll love the quaint Butterpond Village and Ivy's visits there)
* βͺοΈβ€οΈThe friend who wants a story that includes faith in a natural way (Ivy's curiousity about faith grows naturally from seeing love expressed so consistently by her foster family's church βοΈ, as well as by learning about Jewish holidays that her best friend celebrates π)
* πThe friend who loves books with beautiful covers (local artist Dominique Lacroix brought my "whimsical cute Victorian house cover" idea to life in a way that has brought tears of joy to my eyes!)
* π°The friend who always has a book budget (hey, what new author doesn't want readers like that!π) π΅
* π¨π¦πThe friend who loves Maritime books and supporting Canadian creators (the story takes place in Nova Scotia and is written by an author from PEI who now lives in New Brunswick!)
* And the friend who ... really, any friend who might want to check it out! π₯°

Facebook asks, "What's on your mind?" when you open it to create a post. That's easy to answer!
Right now for me, it's SO MANY stories! I have such a long list of books that I want to write, and I know that no matter how much I write in my life, I will never get to tell it all. It can be both invigorating and depressing - I am motivated to share all that I can, but it can be hard to choose which ones stay in my head and which go onto the page, as I know that I might be sacrificing one to give life to another.
I have a list of projects right now. Some are finished first or second drafts that I need to check once again to see if they are worth the investment of more time. Others are children's stories that I am plotting and preparing for first drafts. A co-writer and I have started a collaborative project. There's that YA mystery where I am trying to answer a question of "Where did they go?!" to my own satisfaction. So many stories, so many characters, so many thousands of words needed to share them with the world.
There is always a story, and always a character who needs more attention. I am looking forward to being done of the formatting of "A Family History of Ivy May" so that I don't have to feel guilty when writing something else!

I'm so happy to have my ISBNs (something important for the book publication process that I've been waiting on before being able to finalize everything else).
Books will be available soon!
