Volunteer Canada has made April 14-20, 2024, National Volunteer Week. The theme for National Volunteer Week highlights the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make at a moment when we need support more than ever. The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is vital to the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of our communities. Child Development Programs is proud to have the best volunteers. Today is April 2nd and the kickoff to a month dedicated to Autism. Many years ago April was known as Autism Awareness Month, and now is often referred to as Autism Acceptance Month or World Autism Month. Whatever you call it, the key is to take inspiration to continue to learn and do more to support Autistic individuals to thrive. One of the ways we do this at CDP is to ensure that we are always learning from and listening to neurodivergent professionals and individuals with lived experience. Some of our staff had the opportunity to do just that with the awesome duo at this year and today we’re sharing their resource on moving from awareness to empowerment.
