The PATCH

The Patch recently partnered with 13 Moons Land Based Learning on the Oneida Nation of the Thames, and it's exciting to see the progress already being made.

We're supporting land-based cooking, gardening, and growing. The gardens and outdoor kitchens are helping feed and nourish the many team members working to clear the site for the construction of a traditional Longhouse.

It's inspiring to be part of a project that brings together food, land, culture, and community. Every meal shared and every garden bed tended helps support the vision taking shape on the land.

The Oneida people are known within the Haudenosaunee Confederacy as Onyota’á:ka, “People of the Standing Stone.” They maintain a deeply rooted connection to the land and to their Haudenosaunee culture and traditions.

Thank you so much for your interest and support for tonight’s Celtic Music Night. Unfortunately, due to the severe weather warning, the event scheduled for 7:00–8:00 PM has been canceled.

We sincerely apologize for the disappointment, our volunteers from 5:00–7:00 PM are also no longer required.

Looking for a way to get your hands dirty, meet great people, and help grow local food? Join us every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cavendish Community Food Hub!

This week we're tackling all kinds of rewarding garden work, including:

🍓 Planting our strawberry wall
🌿 Harvesting fresh herbs
🧄 Collecting garlic scapes
🥬 Picking kale

Whether you're an experienced gardener or trying it for the first time, there's a task for everyone. Come out, learn something new, and help us grow a stronger, healthier community.
