resources. The reason why I joined BLINK is because I believe we owe a duty to one another and should look after one another. There is a negative connotation towards the individuals living on street. They are humans too, they are what we are and there should be no reason to treat them less than you would treat your family. Through this club, I hope to at least take a step towards breaking down the stereotype of individuals on the street as being dangerous.

2. Nimai Trivedi

My name is Nimai Trivedi and I am studying Philosophy, Political Science and Economics (PPE) and am currently in my fourth year. The predominant and the most fundamental reason behind joining BLINK is because this particular cause and idea provides a platform for myself to become a catalyst of change and a channel for empathy. Our well-intentioned project’s central vision, which is to create meaningful symbiosis between various stakeholders of the cause, was prudent and influential in my decision to become a part of this highly dedicated and intelligible group of students.

3. Sadiq Shamji

My name is Sadiq Shamji. To me, when someone lacks a home, they lack dignity and hope. They not only have no place to sleep, but society has given them no space to stand. Poverty places them in anonymity. Everyone deserves dignity and hope, and to stand and express themselves proudly as individuals. For us who are fortunate, we can decide to act in the blink of an eye.

4. Shamarthi Gosh

The lack of shelter often absconds a person’s hope and leaves a person doubting his self-worth. My name is Shamarthi and am a student of Economics and Data Science. As an Economist, I understand the best help we can offer a homeless person is a shelter not a dollar. If we can figure out how to help those in need by empowering instead of trying to fix them, we might be surprised at what we all could do.

5. Allen Hwu

My name is Allen Hwu and I'm currently a third year doing a major in Psychology. It all started when my friends and I were studying abroad in China; we started talking about the idea of preventing food waste. With a bit of time to process our thoughts, we decided to get together with a slightly larger group of peers to crack down on issues within our local communities in Kelowna. I just want to make the world a better place, even if it means starting small.

6. Ganga Sirikulthada

Hi my name, is Thaksachan Sirikulthada. However, call me Ganga for short. The reason I joined Blink was I got inspired by online videos that I saw on my Facebook of how people are changing the world with such small and meaningful actions. Furthermore, I was pulled by Sadiq Shamji’s vision that he has been urging about since we ever met. Currently, I am a third year management UBC Okanagan student.
