Starting with cleaning out the contents of the garage, removing all of the old insulation (and mice). Removed the siding, and stripped the interior down to bare studs. The back portion of this new studio apartment had the ceiling joists removed and we added 2x12 rafters sistered to the old 2x6s to create room for insulation in a vaulted ceiling conversion which will eventually have the remaining exposed ties necessary for the structure capped with faux barn board. This area got a new skylight installed last week with help waterproofing and patching the roof by Jen at Rykierts Roofing! 2x8 ceiling joists have been added throughout the front which will remain a flat ceiling.

We are getting organized to bring in some new marine grade 3x6 joists to repair the structure of this crib dock and give it much needed facelift with PVC decking. Stay tuned!
