Grade 4 had an amazing day exploring Fort Normandeau! Students learned about how Indigenous Peoples hunted buffalo and used every part of the animal to support their communities. They also discovered the important role of the MΓ©tis people in the fur trade and explored the many jobs and responsibilities that helped shape life in the region.

It was a wonderful opportunity to connect classroom learning with Alberta’s rich history and deepen our understanding of Indigenous and MΓ©tis cultures. 🦬🦫🦴🌲

πŸ”πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ Capture the Flag… with Rubber Chickens! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ”

Who knew rubber chickens could make Capture the Flag even more exciting?
Our Grade 4 and Grade 10 students teamed up for a fun-filled challenge that had everyone running, strategizing, laughing, and showing great sportsmanship. The Grade 10s put up a strong fight, but the Grade 4s came ready to compete and pulled off an impressive victory!

Congratulations to our Grade 4 champions! πŸ†πŸ‘
It was wonderful to see students of different ages having fun together, building connections, and creating lasting memories.

🌾🐐🚜 Grade 5 Ag Society Adventure! πŸšœπŸ„πŸŒΎ

Check out these fantastic photos from the Grade 5 Ag Society trip on Tuesday!

Our students enjoyed a fun-filled day of hands-on learning as they explored different aspects of agriculture in our community. They learned about:

🐐 Goats and grains with the wonderful volunteers from the Innisfail Ag Society
🌱 How asparagus is grown and harvested (and even had the chance to taste it!) at Edgar’s Farm
πŸ₯› Dairy cows, milking, and roping at the van der Gun Farm β€” and were treated to delicious ice cream!
πŸ„ Beef cattle at Dersta Farm, along with plenty of puppy cuddles

A huge thank you to all of the volunteers, farmers, and hosts who welcomed us and shared their knowledge and passion for agriculture. Your generosity made this an unforgettable experience for our students. Thank you to the Spruce View Ag Society for providing the bussing and to Jenn McIlwain from Innisfail Ag Society for being our chaperone!

What a wonderful day of learning, exploring, and making memories! πŸ’š
