Chris DiPardo (also known as R33SON) is a veteran of the underground, cutting his teeth in various metal bands before taking up producing and DJ’ing. At the same time he began stepping into the role of promoter, organizing shows for them and other local metal bands. This led to Chris taking on the roles of primary manager and agent for Dorian Gray, going on to book them multiple tours across the b
order in the US. In 2008 Chris found himself in Mississauga, ON attending the renowned Metal Works Institute Of Audio for Music Production. Noticing the potential to create a scene similar to Niagara’s, Chris began bringing popular metal bands such as Abandon All Ships, We Came As Romans, Straight Reads The Line, Hometown Beatdown, etc. This effort was successful and Mississauga enjoyed a growing metal scene. In 2010 as Chris graduated from Metal Works, the members of Dorian Gray decided to go their separate ways and Chris assembled a new band called Paramount who unfortunately saw their demise a year later in 2011. Wanting to build on the momentum from these projects, Chris was drawn to the world of electronic music after being introduced to dubstep and the rave scene. Bringing the same passion and integrity to his new sound, he began amassing an arsenal of bass-heavy bangers under the stage name R33SON. He began releasing material and before long his first EP “Inertia” was ready for release in October 2012. Heavily influenced by the metal genre but also featuring collaborations with talented rappers and singers, it would mark the beginning of a new career for Chris. He would soon make his debut as a DJ, crafting mixes on stage with the same passion and precision that he applies to his productions in the studio. In 2013 he released the full-length album “Robots Vs. Aliens” partnering with the humane society to donate $2 of every sale to help rescue stray animals. The album builds on the unique blend of intensity and melody that Chris has worked hard to develop. Continuing to ignite dance floors as R33SON and with tracks from his new album beckoning crowds to let loose, in September 2013 Chris would also be approached by Kia Motors to produce a track to appear in an advertisement for their “Cadenza” model. Also still working tirelessly as a promoter, Chris booked his first promo tour as a solo artist entirely on his own. Headlining the “Where Is My Igloo?” tour in October 2013, he set out across the United States for two weeks with the support of fellow Ontario native Stay Soul Fresh, hitting venues such as PLUSH in Dallas, Phoenix Underground in Shreveport and The Delancey in New York City. Always a believer in hard work and treating all people (and animals) with respect, he brings a mindset to the industry that has become increasingly rare as the years have progressed. Now working on his newest EP and constantly sharpening his DJ skills, it’s clear that Chris/R33SON is set to be a driving force in the Canadian EDM scene and worldwide as the genre continues to progress.
