"Story, Story oh"...Once upon a time, I fell in love with someone who was an avid "fixer". This ultimately ruined the relationship. I wrote Hero Girl shortly after out of empathy for him and people like him.

Something about being the first-born daughter to a Nigerian family prepped me for this because I can relate deeply. I can relate to needing to have control or wanting to make sure that everything and everyone is good. However, the heroism narrative doesn't always play out the way you think it would. If anything, it's simply exhausting.

Anyway, therein lies the lore of my latest single "Hero Girl". I hope you enjoy listening to it!
