I have one simple test for the City of Edmonton to prove everyone wrong on the e-bus scandal: put all 60 buses on the road tomorrow. Have them picking up passengers, driving routes across the city, and issue a press release showing that every bus is operational.

But they can’t.

Here we have Councillor Paquette displaying his usual level of arrogance, trying to dismiss public perception as though it’s somehow inaccurate. It isn’t. At the time he made those comments, there was reportedly only one active e-bus in service. One.

Despite my repeated attempts to obtain basic information from the City of Edmonton regarding e-bus maintenance, scheduling, performance, and availability, administration has consistently refused to provide clear answers. Even simple data requests have been met with resistance.

Now we have transit administration doubling down on the claim that the public perception is wrong. Yes, there are manufacturing issues involved, but acknowledging reality is the first step toward fixing a problem. The public perception is that the buses don’t work because, for the most part, they haven’t worked as promised.

The larger issue is transparency. Administration and council continue to spin narratives instead of providing straightforward facts. Transit is one of the worst examples. They obscure usage data, occupancy data, performance metrics, and operational information while refusing to answer reasonable questions from the public.

As long as I’m here, I will continue pushing for answers and exposing how untransparent this city has become under transit leadership and a council that too often acts as a rubber stamp instead of demanding accountability. Who’s going be held accountable for wasting $100M in taxes?

And don’t forget the new garage is to be NET zero; probably going hit $1B and stock all e buses

“Childen” is Edmontons “learing centre”?

I’ve been talking a lot about daycares and the major issues I’m finding around them. Basic website spelling, no one ever there, skyrocketing numbers with what demand?

Provincial grants, fed subsidy, oversight appears to be self reporting with annual inspections - is it enough?

Is there serious questions around it? Yes I believe so.

We need investigation and for the province to audit some books. I’ve visited dozens which say they are open yet aren’t.

Word of advice, don’t send your kids to daycares that can’t spell, to start ✅
