This was such a pleasure to work on - my first Aussie opal! The greens and blue are just stunning.
I set out to create a piece that felt 'grown'. I carved the stone freeform and engraved some tiny leaves to frame it.
Initially I felt like the opal was a leaf, but somehow I changed my mind and it felt more like an aetherial fruit by the end of my time working on it. Either way, I love how it turned out, what do you think?

Happy scenes from our garden this year! My hands needed a rest from metal and stone, so I have been in the garden.
This year I grew our starts and had some fun with new varieties! Goji berry, herbs galore, cucamelon, so many types of pepper, tomato and eggplant, garlic for the first time and sprouting broccoli that I am so in love with...! Warm regards from the garden everyone! 🌱🌞🍀

Who else loves it when clouds blow across a crescent moon? Here are some dreamy asymmetrical pearl earrings I'm really happy with!
