GLP-1 medications can make it feel like you don’t need to eat.
But your body still needs nourishment.
This is one of the most important nutrition conversations happening right now.
I spoke about some recent research on the nutrition implications of taking GLP-1 medications on CBC Radio earlier this week.

Last week I assisted in another Somatic Experiencing training in Edmonton. This was an intermediate-level training with a key focus on exploring medical trauma — whew, it was a BIG topic.
😐 It got me thinking about the many stressful medical experiences clients have shared with me, often related to gaps in eating disorder care.
👉 There are so many medical appointments when someone is navigating an eating disorder — regular medical monitoring at the doctor’s office, lab work, weight checks (when necessary), plus appointments with a dietitian and therapist…
Ugh, it’s a lot.
Even when healthcare providers genuinely want to help, some of these experiences can leave a lasting imprint on the nervous system. You might feel worried, anxious, or unsettled long after the appointment is over.
✨ If you can relate to this, know that support is available. Somatic Experiencing is a gentle approach that can help the body gradually release stored survival energy and return the nervous system to a more regulated state.
✨ Through slow, mindful tracking of bodily sensations, it can help you move out of fight/flight/freeze and reconnect with a greater sense of safety in your body. ❤️

If shrinking has felt like the price of belonging… you’re not alone.
So many of us were taught that love, safety, and approval come after we change our bodies.
But your body isn’t a problem to solve.
It’s a nervous system doing its best to keep you safe.
And when we stop fighting it - when we start listening - something shifts.
Inside my 10-week group, we practice exactly that:
✨ building safety with food
✨ softening body shame
✨ rebuilding trust with your body
Not through shrinking, but through support.
If you’re ready for a different kind of relationship with food and your body, join us!
Group begins Feb 19th.

Eating disorders don’t have a look.
Despite what we often see in popular media, fewer than 6% of people with eating disorders are medically underweight. This statistic comes from the National Eating Disorders Association and helps explain why so many people are missed, misunderstood, or don’t realize they deserve support!
I spoke about this on CBC Radio during Eating Disorders Awareness Week (Feb 1–7), whose theme this year is: Health doesn’t have a look.
