Rapper, actor. Adrien has become a growing figure in hip-hop and rap circles for his talent, his violent behavior, and his point of personal views. The son of a drug user and alcoholic, Adrien moved around a lot as a child. In his youth, he explored Poetry by becoming a member of the North American Poetry Association. In 2003, Shakur emerged as a solo artist - using the name Adoe-G - with his debut album 'Let It Be Told'. The track "never really mattered" reached as high as number three on the Edmonton University hip-hop chart. Adoe-G became quite a sensation, earning praise for his musical and acting talent as well as condemnation for his explicit, violent lyrics. Many of his songs told of fights, gangs, and s*x. He appeared to be living up to his aggressive gangster rap persona with several arrests for violent offenses in the 2009. In 2010, he spent several days in jail for assault. Adrien himself fell victim to violence and is undergoing threats from rival Rap labels in and around the Edmonton area.. With an early start at composing poetry, Adrien Thomas is no stranger to the art of expression. As a result of family and social ordeals, Adrien was therapeutically recommended to continue writing poetry as a chosen means to express himself. After two years of writing, he was asked for rights for publication of his poems. Labeled as a triumph over his own ordeals the North American Poetry Association honored one of his compositions. Listed under the category ‘Street Poetry’, ‘Sitting In a Jail Cell’ , created notable topics concerning life on the streets for the aboriginals of America. It was’nt until later on in his life, his desire of writing took a dramatic turn. Often challenging his goals, he decided to take his poetry and target the youth of the inner city streets in the form of Hip Hop. His inspiration, Tupac Shakur and Ray Charles. Today Adoe-G is a self proclaimed Hip Hop artist. His dedication, passion and drive is proven through the depth of his lyrical capabilities. His songs are sub divisions of various chapters in his life, each of which depict the power of truth, love and soul.
