I know a lot of you have been asking (and occasionally harassing) me to get the Breville Tamping Stations back in stock. Without going into too much detail, it ended up being a ground up redesign, but I am super excited for the final product to be entering into production this week! Stay tuned for more details coming out soon.

PS: most of you know this, but I put a huge effort in to lowering my environmental impact as much as possible. These test prints are not only made out of biodegradable material, but are super optimized to only use about 30g of material each. All aspects of my design process put the 🌎 first!

In case you're wondering who I am or what this is, let me provide some context.

Ever found yourself struggling to balance your portafilter while trying to distribute or tamp your espresso grounds? Yeah, I've been there too. That annoyance sparked a challenge for me: design something better. After endless tinkering and testing, I'm stoked to introduce the Basics Machine Shop Tamping Station. Picture this – gorgeous Dark Walnut, snugly fitting almost any 58mm or 54mm portafilter. It's not just about looks though; we've carefully crafted it for stability and ease of use, using materials like 6061 aluminum and brass. And because we care about our planet, every part is either renewable or recyclable. Plus, the Walnut top? Sealed with an eco-friendly, non-toxic oil-based coat. It's a labor of love, made right here in Canmore, Alberta. I'm beyond proud of this creation. It's not just a tamping station; it's a testament to our passion for great espresso and sustainability, all rolled into one.

New batch is done! This run certainly came with some frustrations, but I couldn’t be happier with the end result.
