Such an incredible body of work showcasing incredible women.

G

Looking back, this campaign was one of the most meaningful experiences at DBC. We loved collaborating with photographer Hilary Gauld ONE FOR THE WALL photography, Ellyn Winters-Robinson AskEllyn, and ten remarkable women: Beth Marchant, Nina Lynn, Nakida Fuller, Jénnelle Victoria, Sarah H, Angie Choi, Robin Macina, Tarot Stephens, Hannah Hallsworth and Cassandra Marchese

This campaign highlights something so important—recent research shows that breast cancer incidence is rising among women in their 20s and 30s. Sadly, when breast cancer strikes young women, it’s often found later, and it can be more aggressive and harder to treat. Beyond that, they face so many invisible challenges—early menopause, tough medication side effects, relationship and fertility hurdles, and the constant worry about recurrence. We don’t always see the weight they carry.

They aren’t too young to be diagnosed with breast cancer—but they are too young to be routinely screened. That’s why their message to their peers is so powerful: You are not too young. Breast cancer doesn’t care about your age. Know your body. Take charge of your breast health. Be your best first line of defense.

If you didn’t catch the campaign last year, I encourage you to take a few minutes to see the stunning photos and read the moving stories of these ten incredibly brave women. Their voices deserve to be heard—and shared. https://www.densebreastscanada.ca/not-too-young-2024/
