All net proceeds from the run/walk event will be reinvested back into the work of the Servants Anonymous Foundation(SA Foundation) 's Vancouver & Global Projects (www.safoundation.com). The SA Foundation is a non-profit organization that develops programs and services for young women who are in danger of, or have been, sexually exploited and/or trafficked. For over 25 years, the SA Foundation has been helping young women exit the sex trade and rebuild their lives. The SA program model encompasses front-line housing and a uniquely designed day program that addresses the specific needs of women exiting sexual exploitation. Did you know that human trafficking of women and children is the fastest growing business of organized crime? Internationally, young women and children are often sold by parents and relatives into brothels. In North America, abuse and neglect are often frequent components in the histories of women and children who end up on the streets. No matter their stories, they deserve an avenue of escape. The SA Foundation is one of few organizations internationally that offers a comprehensive and uniquely designed long-term recovery program for these young women, including those that are pregnant and/or have children. The organization delivers programs that are based on the principles of servant hood, personal recovery and community and their long-term objective is that no person be enslaved by, or trapped in, the sex trade. The Vancouver Project offers the following programs and services to sexually exploited & trafficked youth, women and their children in Vancouver, BC, Canada:

GENESIS HOUSE
Genesis House is a program for women with children (in their care or otherwise;) aged 16-29 that are seeking recovery from sexual exploitation and trafficking. There are 4 long-term beds and 1 short term bed. This unique house encourages independent living in a roommate environment. Each participant has their own bedroom and can come and go from the house freely, while respecting house rules and curfews. A house director lives in the home who provides supervision and direction, as the home is intended to be a place of healing for those committed to recovery. THE ASK LEARNING CENTRE
As part of the recovery program, the ASK Learning Centre is the daytime program provided to participants. All participants in the Genesis House are required to attend the ASK Learning Centre for a minimum of 6 months. The objectives of the program are that participants will be equipped to:

Healing from past abuse & trauma
Recovery from addictions
Life skills training
Job training or trade apprenticeship
Return to work or school re-entry
Increase their level of education
This is accomplished through delivery of recovery curriculum in short, interactive classes and recreational and educational outings.
