What I DON’T mean by this is to come in and say “do whatever you want!” because that’s almost always not the case. 😬

If a new client sits in my chair and is obviously very skeptical of my skill, it is totally my job to help them feel comfortable and at home. I will explain the entire process. I will establish my expertise and help them realize they are in capable hands. But if it’s obvious that there’s nothing I can do to help you trust me, then I really struggle to keep up with my timing. I usually make silly mistakes that I wouldn’t otherwise make because I feel this added pressure of your scrutiny. I totally get it! You’ve had your hair messed up multiple times. You’ve gone to someone new and maybe had some bleed lines or a bad toner.

If you are asking for something that I feel is over my skill level, I will be the first to admit it! The we can decide if we are going to grow together or not.

Just some food for thought from a stylist who desperately wants you to relax and enjoy your hair appointment. 🧡
