Alberta Bike Swap

Every week is different, wonderful, and a beautiful reminder of how interconnected our cycling community is! 🚴‍♂️✨
We spent an incredible week at the Mayor’s Environmental Expo speaking to a rapt audience of parents and children. We walked them through the "2-V-1" helmet fit guide and the "A-B-C" checklist to make sure their bikes are mechanically ready to ride. A huge thank you to the City of Calgary – Your Local Government for such a well-organized event—it was fantastic to catch up with so many City staff members who regularly volunteer their time at our bike swaps!
Because of the event, our calendar is filling fast! We’ve booked quite a few upcoming community clean-ups, and our specialized community bike racks have been reserved for Day celebrations and local tri-bike events.
We also got a wonderful heartwarming update this week: fantastic photos from Claresholm! We acted as a conduit to send bicycle donations from our Calgary swap down to those in need in the Claresholm area, and seeing the direct impact is truly an honour.
We are continuing our multi-year partnership rebuilding bikes with Kiwanis Club of Calgary Chinook. The best part? Some of our incredible Alberta Bike Swap volunteers are now starting to volunteer with Kiwanis as well! Talk about sharing the bikey goodness. Thank you to everyone who keeps our wheels turning! 🏙️🛠️
