We are excited to introduce presenters for three sessions at Data That Makes a Difference 2026! 🎤📊

Nataliia Shen and Michael Grant will highlight how early signals from newcomer settlement services, like benefits navigation challenges and repeated referrals, can help identify housing risk sooner.
Patrick Hunter and Annie Duchesne will share national insights on homelessness trends, including increasing shelter stays and rising chronic homelessness across Canada.

Professor Emeritus, Ron Kneebone will share research using anonymized shelter data to track trends in first-year shelter use, highlighting both system progress and emerging pressures.

We were proud to join the 20th anniversary celebrations of the HELP Team (formerly the DOAP Team) alongside Alpha House Society last week.
For the past two decades, the HELP Team has provided specialized, mobile, street‑level outreach to individuals experiencing homelessness across Calgary. The team’s commitment to connecting vulnerable individuals to services and safe spaces continues to make a meaningful difference and remains a critical component of Calgary’s homelessness response.

Calgary Homeless Foundation is honoured to support this vital work of Alpha House Society.

It’s colder than usual in Calgary this week.

When temperatures drop below normal, our community steps up to ensure everyone has access to warmth and safety.

Through the Extreme Weather Response program, day spaces and support services are available across the city for those experiencing homelessness. đź’™
