My number one tip for meditating -
Move 👏🏼 your 👏🏼 body!
If you are beginning a meditation practice and can’t seem to calm that monkey mind, or stay focused on the breath, or you attend to all the little itches, tickles, and wiggles, your body may be telling you it needs to move!!
Have you ever attended a yoga class where after you sit up from savasana and close practice together you feel like you could just sit there for 5, 10, 30 more minutes? That’s because your mind and body have prepared for meditation! Movement followed by intentional withdrawal from destractions (tuning inward) has:
Calmed the nervous system
Circulated and discarded stagnant energy
Connected the mind and body as one
Stimulated one-pointedness
This is the STARTING point for meditation 😉
The pioneers of yoga, or, the Upanishads, didn’t make this sh*t up! It works and is available to everyone ✨ ✨ ✨
Give it a try and let me know what shifts for you. If you desire more personal guidance, send me a message as I’d love to connect.
Happy moving & happy meditating!
🙏🏼 xo

“[…] for working with people with developmental disabilities, it is enough that your intention is to provide a safe atmosphere where people can enjoy their movement experiences together” - Dance Ability Quote
❤️
8 joy-filled weeks with AAFS ended last night after our last Dance Delight class of the session.
This experience for me is one I am so grateful for! I met incredible people that increased my own energy every week. Participants, students, and staff who all embodied a passion for laughter, creativity, movement, joy, and inclusivity. I learned so much about my peers, myself, and the amazing world working with those with disabilities. It was my mission to provide a program rooted in authenticity and connection, and I came out of it with 20 new friends 👯♀️
It is enough to provide a safe space where everyone is accepted. It is enough to be seen, and to be heard, and to be silly. It is enough to dance. It is enough to smile & each and everyone one of you is enough to make your dreams happen.
I look forward to hosting this program again very soon!! Huge thanks to the entire team. My Monday nights won’t be the same without you!
Until next time 😌
