I'm a substitute teacher, who also happens to be high risk for COVID. So I've had to limit myself to only subbing online, which means I'm getting very little work. However! I started sewing masks for friends over the summer as a little bit of a side hustle, and it sort of took off! I've rediscovered my love of sewing, and have decided to make a go of a sort of sewing business! I'm able to do all s

Now that Christmas is over, and Grandma is now in Mexico wearing these, I can share my last sewing project before our big move in November. A couple of caftan/muumuus!

Although it's a really simple garment to make, it was difficult to make them while dealing with first trimester nausea and exhaustion, but I did it! And I think I'll be making myself a breastfeeding friendly version, since babe will be arriving just before summer hits.

Since moving, my sewing setup is VERY makeshift.... We don't have room for my desk, so it's in the shed while I try to sell it... And I'm currently sewing while sitting on our spare bed, using a night stand for the machine. Plus the ironing board is in the soon-to-be nursery for the time being, as there's too many boxes in this room!

Working on a Christmas present really quick so that I can pack up all of my sewing stuff before our move next weekend!

Can't show the finished product for a while because the recipient follows me, but I'm excited for how it's going to turn out!

A few years ago, someone was giving away some boxes of sewing patterns for free. Obviously I grabbed them, but they've been in my sewing room closets ever since.

But looks like I can finally use one! Making a quick mock-up with an old sheet to make sure it fits right (according the measurements it miiiiiight be a bit small) and then I'll be able to make my blanket coat!

Being both thrifty and crafty can be fun!
I wanted a lightweight dress for lounging around the house in... But I couldn't find what I wanted, and fabric is freaking expensive! So ... $3 thrift store bed sheet, a free download pattern and an afternoon got me this super cute number!

I had to be a little strategic with some old wear spots, and had to add gussets to the bust, but the sash is just the top wide hem, so was stupidly easy to make (cut off?).

Also, for those of you who've followed me for a while, I've now left teaching (that's a whole other story...) And I have a ton of time on my hands, so my hiatus is over! If anyone wants something made, send me a DM and we can work something out!
