A little off😅

10/16/2025

At Aether, we focus on learning the art of grappling from the ground up.
You’ll learn how to set up and finish takedowns, control your opponent, and develop the confidence to apply it all, whether in MMA, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or just as a personal challenge.
Everyone’s welcome here, from beginners to competitors.
Come train, learn, and grow with us.

What a phenomenal weekend! It’s taken some time for us to process everything that happened this weekend and find the words to express just how special these debuts were for us!

Seeing Will step into the cage and put on THAT performance after only 6 months of BJJ/MMA training and a camp filled with constant hurdles was an absolute joy to watch! With a last minute opponent upgrade and multiple injuries (Including one that meant he did not drill or roll for almost a month before the fight!!!) Will never wavered in his dedication to the goal and that commitment led to a 2nd Round TKO! It has been such an honor to join William in achieving his dream of fighting in the cage. No longer just a boxer - truly an MMA fighter!

David! What a beast! David has been training with us for a long time and has contemplated stepping in the cage for a while. We cannot express how grateful we are that he trusted us to finally get him there. David put himself fully in our hands and took every piece of advice and guidance on board for a truly collaborative fight camp experience. From skills training, to conditioning, to mental prep, and a tough weight cut; David followed Coach Dan’s knowledge and experience and dominated the full three rounds with his signature constant pressure and physicality to earn a unanimous decision win against a tough opponent!

A fantastic weekend surrounded by so many of our people! We can’t wait to do it again…SOON!

We will die on this hill if we have to!

Anyone that has sparred at Aether knows how much pride we take in pushing and preparing our athletes while ensuring everyone can still wake up and go to work tomorrow with all their brain cells!

Our coaching team both have their horror stories of training “partners” and “Coaches” that work off the frankly outdated mentality that sparring has to be as hard as possible to get you ready to fight! Both Coach Dan and Coach Will spent years following this advice and training with those classic “Let’s go light!”partners whose egos could never let them actually go light! They took far too much unnecessary damage and spent too many rounds focused on surviving rather than honing their skills. Thankfully our athletes get to benefit from these lessons without having to go through them.

Sparring is training, not fighting! It is a chance to test all of the skills you have worked on in an active higher stress scenario. Not to win a 3 minute round against a teammate!

“”If you hurt your training partners, you won’t have anyone to train with!”- Prof Paul” - Coach Dan

We are STOKED to announce that Will and David will both be finally making their amateur MMA debuts at Rumble in the Cage 69!
We can’t wait for everyone to see the product of all the hard work these athletes have put in for this experience!
See you all in Lethbridge AB April 5th!

What a weekend to kick off 2025!
Will, David, and Charlie faced the cold to compete at the Peak Grappling Winter Showcase this Saturday and brought home some gorgeous hardware!

faced his toughest bracket yet and showcased the lessons he learned from last year’s tournaments and got Silver in Gi and some amazing highlights in No-Gi!
came in to his third ever tournament after a tough day at his second and proved the first was not a fluke and he is truly a talent to watch! Winning Gold in Gi and Bronze in No-Gi after SLICING HIS FINGER TO THE BONE the night before!
David went up a bracket in both Gi and No-Gi and displayed his phenomenal growth and talent! Winning Silver in Gi (Losing only in the final match to Will!) and Gold in No-Gi!

Special shoutout to Jayden and Helmut for coming out to support the guys!
and a massive thank you as always to for running such an amazing and smooth event!
