My athlete page will talk about roller derby fitness, strategy and culture. I'm a skater, a fan, and once upon a time I was a photojournalist so I'll post all types of things that I find interesting and derby related.
101 burpees.
There's probably not going to be any derby for a while, so that sucks.
But the silver lining to the pandemic is that with no job and no school I've able to train harder than I ever have before.
Without derby to train for, I know it'll be hard to stay motivated.
But I refuse to let the dream die. Even if i never get the chance to strap on my skates I'm going to keep pushing myself.
Derby has changed everything in my life for the better and I'll let it keep being a positive force even if it's only a distant hope.
Anyway, good luck to everyone in the derby world over the next week, months and maybe years. It's not 'goodbye,' it's:
See You Later

Morning conditioning circuit for my roomie .pandolfi and I.
3 laps/30 burpees/30 15 lb slams/30 porch jumps; 2 laps/20/20/20; 1 lap/10/10/10.
Then we do a strength training circuit in the basement and I do a skating circuit in the afternoons.
It's not easy convincing yourself to get up and out there. Some days I can barely get out of bed, with everything happening.
Not having any derby to look forward to makes training sometimes feel pointless but when we come back I want to be ready.
In a way, I'm thankful because I can work on the things I was neglecting. Not just conditioning, either, but whole chunks of my life, as I'm sure everyone can appreciate.
Anyway, one day at a time. Get it while you still can!
