Conditions Ignored: Mitchell Harrison Defies Court Order by Taking the Wheel

In a troubling reminder that court-ordered restrictions are sometimes treated like mere suggestions, Prince Edward County resident Mitchell Harrison, 41, was charged after being caught driving—a blatant breach of conditions that prohibit him from occupying a motor vehicle’s driver’s seat. Officers from the Prince Edward County OPP, acting on a tip from an off-duty officer, conducted a traffic stop at around 6 p.m. on Thursday, uncovering Harrison’s brazen disregard for a release order.

The charges leveled against Harrison include “Failure to Comply with a Release Order” and “Drive While Under Suspension” (two counts). Not only was Harrison’s irresponsible behavior a violation of court conditions, but it also put public safety at risk—a decision that the authorities will no doubt scrutinize in court. Following his arrest, Harrison was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 30, 2025. In addition, the vehicle involved has been impounded for a period of seven days.

This incident raises serious questions about the enforcement of judicial orders and the mechanisms in place to ensure that individuals respect the conditions set by our courts. At The Miller Mail, we continue to push for greater accountability when it comes to protecting the public and maintaining the integrity of our justice system.

Lily Devine Under Siege: A Battle for Safety and Dignity

In a city where the pressure to conform can smother individuality, Lily Devine has become an emblem of courage for those fighting to reclaim their narrative. A celebrated local performer known for her fearless artistry, Lily has spent the past two years caught in a storm of harassment that has threatened not only her safety but also her right to perform.

What began as a series of troubling social media posts and manipulated footage quickly spiraled into an unrelenting barrage aimed squarely at her. An individual identified as Jacob Stephen Orwin—whose own troubling past in Kingston had already cast a long shadow—seized on a traumatic night to twist events into a narrative designed to discredit and intimidate. His barrage included chilling messages, false accusations, and the deliberate spread of selective clips, leaving Lily to face the fallout in the public eye.

The physical and emotional toll was immense. At one point, mounting safety concerns forced Lily to announce the cancellation of her remaining show dates. But even as the weight of these attacks threatened to silence her, Lily refused to back down. Against all odds, she graced the stage on April 15th—a performance imbued with the raw determination of someone who has been pushed to the edge yet chooses resilience over retreat.

“It’s not just about defending my right to perform,” Lily shared, her voice resolute yet tinged with exhaustion, “it’s about exposing the truth and forcing our community to confront that harassment and misinformation won’t be tolerated.” For Lily, every note sung and every step taken on stage is a defiant act of survival—a reminder that the assault on her character is not just personal but emblematic of a larger issue in Belleville's handling of harassment and accountability.

The fallout from these attacks extends well beyond one individual. They expose a troubling dynamic where manipulation of narratives and the exploitation of personal trauma not only intimidate the direct victim but also unsettle a community already wary of systemic failures. As Lily navigates this precarious landscape, her experience is a call to action for local authorities and community leaders, urging them to address the gaps that allow such harassment to fester unchecked.

For those following these events, the message is clear: harassment in any form must be met with swift accountability—not just to protect a single performer, but to safeguard the integrity and humanity of our entire community.

Lily Devine’s struggle and resilience remind us that while digital platforms can amplify hate, they can also serve as battlegrounds where truth, courage, and determination prevail. The Miller Mail remains committed to bringing every detail into the light, because in exposing the harsh realities of harassment, we empower survivors and fortify our collective stand for justice.

Public Decency Breached: Late-Night Incident Raises Questions Downtown

By The Miller Mail

Belleville, April 10, 2025 – As the city settled under the quiet veil of night, the heart of downtown Belleville was jarred awake by a disturbing scene—one that turned heads, drew alarm, and reminded us all of the delicate balance between freedom and responsibility.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., Belleville Police responded to reports of a man and woman engaging in sexual activity in a public space—an act carried out in full view of the community. Officers quickly located the individuals and assessed the scene.

The male suspect, a 39-year-old local man, was found to be heavily intoxicated and unable to care for himself. In a city already grappling with concerns around public behavior and the safety of shared spaces, this incident struck a nerve. It wasn’t just about intoxication—it was about the erosion of public respect, the lack of accountability, and the invisible weight it places on those who call this city home.

The suspect was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place and transported to the Belleville Police Service. After sobering up, he was formally charged under the Liquor Licence Control Act and released.

But this isn’t just about one man’s poor judgment. It’s about the expectations we have for public behavior in a city trying to grow, heal, and feel safe again. Every act in public space is a reflection of who we are—and who we hope to become.

The Miller Mail will continue to shine a light where others might look away, reminding the community that awareness and responsibility walk hand in hand.

Belleville’s Broken Trust: Bail Violation Shakes Community

By The Miller Mail

Belleville, April 10, 2025 – In an incident that rattled the west-end of Belleville this afternoon, a violation of court-ordered conditions struck at the very heart of community trust. At 4:00 p.m., concerned voices cried out for justice when police were summoned to a local residence. A distressed female complainant revealed that a 43-year-old man—bound by legal restrictions—had once again infringed upon her safe haven.

Witnessing the unfolding drama with a mix of resolute determination and visible concern, the Belleville Police swiftly located the accused. His breach of bail conditions by appearing where he was expressly forbidden not only endangered the victim’s sense of security but also undermined the integrity of the judicial process. The arrest, executed with a palpable air of urgency, marks another somber reminder of the consequences when laws meant to protect the vulnerable are disregarded.

Now held in custody, the suspect faces a daunting charge of “Fail to Comply With an Undertaking” as he awaits his court appearance scheduled for April 11, 2025. The rapid response by law enforcement underscores a collective commitment to the rule of law and the safeguarding of our community’s peace.

Amid a cascade of emotions, from anger to deep concern for public safety, this episode serves as a stark call to hold accountable those who jeopardize the trust and security that bind us together. The Miller Mail remains dedicated to uncovering these stories, ensuring that every voice is heard and every injustice is met with the scrutiny it demands.

Drunk Behind the Wheel.
On April 10th around 5:30pm, a two-car collision at Sidney and Bridge shook Belleville’s streets. Thankfully, no one was injured—but it could’ve ended very differently.

Police arrested 21-year-old William Meitz after he failed a roadside breath test. He was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired and over the legal limit.

Every time someone drives drunk, they gamble with lives—not just their own. We got lucky this time. Next time, we might not.

We here at the Miller have received a bit of push back after one of our latest posts. The majority has been extremely positive so we thank you all for that. We want to say we do not think taking public information and making it easier for people to access especially when it's information makes one of Belleville biggest bullies have less power within the community. We will not listen to people making excuses for predators especially when they are still making victims within the community. We stand with all the people who have had their work or families contacted by Jacob all the people he black mailed using dating apps. The Miller mail will be here to find the facts and expose the harassers.
