Lucidity

Last week, I had the privilege of attending the RCLSI Change of Command ceremony.

While the ceremony itself marked an important leadership transition, what stayed with me most was the opportunity to pause and reflect.

Working alongside the leaders of the Canadian Armed Forces has been one of the greatest honours of my career. I have immense respect for the professionalism, integrity, and commitment they demonstrate every day. Being invited to attend wasn’t something I took for granted. It was a reminder of how far I’ve come, the relationships I’ve built, and the trust that has been placed in me over the years.

As someone who once questioned whether I belonged in rooms like these, moments like this mean more than people probably realize. They remind me that growth happens one conversation, one challenge, and one opportunity at a time.

I’m grateful for the leaders who have invested in me, challenged me, and believed in my potential. Those experiences continue to shape not only the work I do for the Department of National Defence, but also the work I do helping others grow in confidence and leadership.

Here’s to leading with humility, serving with purpose, and never forgetting the people who helped open the doors along the way.
