The other day, a hawk (Red-tailed Hawk or Cooper's Hawk) flew into my backyard with what looked like an American Robin secured in its claws. It was totally unexpected. I grabbed the only lens I had nearby — a 100mm macro (of all things, LOL). Amazingly, the hawk let me get pretty close. At one point, it even looked straight at me before flying off with its prey.
This is the first time in 28 years I’ve managed to capture a big bird like this in my backyard.
