STEM U Foundation, together with H.E. Ambassador Nestor Mendez, is helping create meaningful, life-changing opportunities for the youth of Belize through education, global exposure, and real-world engagement.
During the STEM U Global Exchange, students from St. Ignatius High School had the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Mendez and gain insight into leadership, diplomacy, and Belize’s representation on the international stage. Experiences like these help expand perspective, strengthen confidence, and connect young people to a broader vision for their future.
Through partnerships and opportunities like this, STEM U Foundation continues working to shape pathways that empower the next generation of leaders, innovators, and changemakers in Belize.

Kamil Neal is a dedicated community leader whose work is creating stronger opportunities for children and youth in Belize. As Technical Coordinator of the Child-Friendly Municipality Unit in San Ignacio and Santa Elena, she has been a strong advocate for children’s rights, helping ensure that young voices are reflected in local policies, programs, and decision-making.
Her impact is especially evident in education and youth development. Kamil successfully advocated for major funding to reconstruct the Santa Elena Community Preschool, helping create a safer, more inclusive learning environment for children. She has also built strong partnerships across sectors and mentored young leaders through the Child Advisory Body, empowering them to grow in confidence and become advocates in their own communities.
Beyond policy and advocacy, Kamil has supported youth conferences, skills-building workshops, scholarship programs, and community initiatives that promote development, inclusion, and wellbeing. Her work continues to help shape environments where children and young people can thrive.
